My friend brought in a recent article from National Geographic on paid maternity leave. The article has a graph that depicts the various levels of paid leave across the world. Real shocker – the U.S. is last in place, accompanied by New Guinea and Liberia. Nice. Only three countries in the world that don’t offer any kind of paid leave and the “World Leader” is one of them. What kind of message does that send to women who want to be mothers and still work? Not a good one.
