OK, so it’s been awhile since I have posted about my favorite, ok, or not so favorite generation. Check out this post from Blogspotting. According to a survey by Accenture, the majority of millenials chose an employer based on whether or not they have state-of-the-art technology. Like, HELLO, we are entering into a recession. If you get ANY job consider yourself lucky. I think Stephen Baker’s title for his post was accurate “obsolete”.

Thanksgiving and styles
Recently the Wall Street Journal’s The Juggle posted about families getting together at Thanksgiving and the conversations that can happen as people start to talk about their “juggle”. It got me thinking. Everyone juggles at some point in their life, right? Whether it’s child-related, job-related, finance-related, etc. For the past 2 years or so I have been completely consumed with juggling around the kids. And I mean everything from when I can take a shower, fold laundry or make a bed to my career and other larger issues. The lesson to be learned here is that we all juggle at one point. And I think I need to realize that there are others who have two under two and they seem to manange. Here’s to a great weekend!

Motrin….umm..not
Ok, so I am late to the game, what can I say, I am offline all weekend, all the time. To anyone has not seen the Motrin ad, you may want to. I can’t find a link – a lot of them have expired, or are “not available”. Basically, Motrin put out an advertisement, targeted at new mothers/mothers with young children, that wear slings, etc. The video ad implies that mothers who “wear” their babies are in pain all the time and cry. There is a complete storm over on Twitter about this – apparently Motrin marketers forgot to consult mothers when doing this ad. I saw it – didn’t think much of it, but as other mommy bloggers have pointed out, it sends a negative message. And, I am all set with generic ibuprofen anyway. B.L. Ochman tells the story here.

So Proud!
Our town, where we currently live, was named one of the best places to raise kids by BusinessWeek! Check it out! I love Nashua I really do. I like that it’s a real city, not a small town. We have diverse population, great municipal systems, somewhat affordable housing and close proximity to Boston, as well as the ocean and the mountains. We even have our own Symphony, lots of parks, shopping and a fabulous downtown. Actually dined at Surf last night, so awesome.

Most Influential Women
Ok, I will admit, I have not completely gone through this list and have not read all of the details. But I will. I am fascinated by Web 2.0 and leadership and well, this is even more enticing because it’s a list of women. I may even buy the hard copy of Fast Company for this one!

Personal Post
It’s been awhile since I have done a post that is completely personal. And that is probably because there is so much going on in the world that is much more interesting. Well, tomorrow my son turns 2. And I can’t believe it. So much has changed in the past few years. And to take things even a step further, my three year wedding anniversary is next week. So much has happened in the past few years, it’s actually hard to take in when I take a step back. In three years, we have gotten married, changed jobs, moved three times, bought a house and had two children. Oh, and gained what seems to be a permanent 25 pounds. As with most people, we have dealt with death, sickness, weddings, various family issues, etc . And each day it seems to come back to the same thing. Our life. Our life is what we make it. And although I do not remember that on a daily basis when I am rushing through the house trying to get the laundry done while tripping over crayons, I try to when I reflect each day. Life is so busy, full of daily activities, day care, meals, work, cleaning, the dog. It’s hard to take a step back. So, as we celebrate my son turning two and our three year anniversary, I am going to commit to reflection.
