I am going to head out shortly, but today has been a great day.  Most days are I guess!  Anyway, for those of you who actually know me, I am getting my hair done tonight and I may be going to back to blonde.  I never thought I would, but I might.  Who knows what tonight will bring.

I wanted to bring attention to this post on the MWW blog.  Love the way he puts stuff.

Have a good night All.

Reading WSJ’s The Juggle’s post today about sleep deprivation, I was reading one of the comments and could not stop laughing.  Turn out the commentator is from Role Mommy.  Very Cool.

Mike Wallace

Mike Wallace.  A name I will never forget.  As I previously mentioned, I interned at CBS News during college.  At lunchtime, I would go to the kiosk, grab lunch and eat with my intern coordinator.  Anyway, the kiosk was on the 9th floor of the 555 building, the same floor as 60 Minutes and what was once Eye to Eye with Connie Chung.   One day, I was in there, getting my usual, bagel with cream cheese, Diet Snapple, an apple and a yogurt, when this wrinkly old man walks in.  He took one look at me, looked me up and down, and was like, “YOU’RE going to eat THAT?  Do you realize how many young people like you are overweight?”.  I cried immediately.  I was 19 years-old, and never having watched 60 Minutes, had no idea who this old man was, but I couldn’t stop crying.  Of course, I was a bit fluffy, similar to how I look now post-baby, but still.  Who was this man and why did he feel the need to be so mean?  Well, without further ado, he of course left and went back to his cave.  And the little man behind the desk, Benny, handed me some tissues, said not to let him get to me, and oh, by the way, did I know who that was.  Of course I didn’t, and even after Benny told me I could care less.  So, back in the intern coordinator’s office, I was telling her the story, still crying of course, and her phone rang.  It was Mike Wallace’s secretary calling my boss to tell her to tell me that he is sorry.  He didn’t even have the decency to call himself.  He is what I call a Royal Tool.

Dan Rather at SXSW

Cnet’s coverage here.   He makes some good points, my favorite is the quote:”What happens on the streets of Baghdad or Kabul does matter on Main Street.”

Very true.  Sometimes we forget.

I like Dan Rather.  I remember when I first met him, twelve years ago.  I was an intern at CBS News.  Back then they actually had an OJ Simpson Unit and I interned there and at 48 Hours.  During the trial, the court transcripts would come into the newsroom and I would have to pull them from the “wire” and hand them to Dan Rather.  Big whoop, I know.  But technology has changed everything!  I remember opening up viewer mail for show ideas for 48 Hours.  Imaging that.   I have a good Mike Wallace story to share too, perhaps at lunch I will post about it.

Yikes.

Well, this is scary.  Although, I truly believe that this will not be as drastic at the smaller/mid-sized firms.  That is just my opinion of course, I have no validity, but I think we will be ok.  At the end of the day, if you do a good job, and give it 100%, you will always have work.

So, that’s why…

…I am slow sometimes.  Huh, who knew, all I am missing is exercise.  Right.

It was nice to read this today.   I have been a fan of Guliani’s since 9-11, which I suppose is when a lot of people started to like him.  But, having lived in the City before and through 9-11, I can say that he truly built on the established brotherhood that NYC dwellers feel.   He was able to make a lot of people feel safe during the most tragic time.  That said, do we think he would make a good U.S. President?  I don’t know.  Then again, who would.  Our current President has made it quite difficult for anyone to turn things around.
